Well, I will start out by saying that we didn't have good seats and my phone didn't take good pictures at all. I managed to get a couple, though.
This is me and Jeanne, my friend that went with me. Yes, I hang out with a 20 year old. Keeps me young, right?
Here they are, not that you can tell who is who, but I have to say it was AWESOME! I will be saying that many times during this post, I am sure.
I guess I will start at the beginning. Jonathan came home early from work to stay with the kids because we had to leave early to avoid Atlanta rush hour traffic. We left about 3:30pm and the concert started at 7:30. We live about 2 hours away from Atlanta, but we figured it still wouldn't take us 4 hours to get there, even with traffic. We stopped in Kennesaw and ate, then got back on the road. The traffic wasn't bad until we were about 10 miles away. Anyway, we got there and in our seats at about 7:00.
So our seats were in the very top section and we were in separate sections because when I bought the tickets online, they didn't have 2 seats together. I figured we could sit together, though. Ok, so these tickets were not only in the top section, Jeanne's seat was like on the very top row. At this point, there were still lots of empty seats, so we go to the bottom of that section, so that we were right up against the rail. That wasn't bad, but we noticed in the level below, half the section was empty. So when NKOTB came on, we waited until the lady checking the tickets walked away and we snuck down there. I will say that we weren't the only ones doing this. Anyway, it was much better.
So to start off, someone named Ashlynne Huff came out. I don't know who she is, but she wasn't that good. She definitely needed a new outfit, too. I thought she was gonna take the place of Jordin Sparks that was supposed to be opening, but she didn't. I'm glad. Being an American Idol fan, I knew a few of her songs and she's really good. But of course, the main attraction was yet to come. Can I say that all these memories came back of my two previous New Kids concerts almost 20 years ago! Yes, it has been that long! I wasn't sure how I would act being an old lady at this concert, but I figured it would come back to me. And let me tell you, it did! I think this concert was better than the first ones. I screamed so much, that I couldn't talk afterwards and don't sound that good this morning. Like I care! It was freakin' awesome!!!
I will say that Backstreet Boys were good too. I was screaming for them too :) But, nothing like my first loves! Wow! After the opening acts, NKOTBSB came out. For those of you who don't keep up, that would be the New Kids and BSB together. They did a song together for the last song and it was AWESOME! They really sounded good together!
Anyway, NKOTB came out and sang a few songs, then BSB came out and sang a few songs. They did this a few times. They sang a few of their songs that I don't know was ever released. Like Valentine Girl, something else I can't remember, and going way back to Didn't I Blow Your Mind. Of course they sang The Right Stuff, Hangin' Tough, My Favorite Girl, Cover Girl, Tonight, I'll Be Loving You Forever, Please Don't Go Girl, and lots of others.
My friends, they still got it! They are HOT! And my favorite part of the show was when Donnie ripped his shirt off! Of course I couldn't tell by just looking, but the picture on the big screen showed a close up and HELLO, he has been workin' out! I'm not talking a six pack, I'm talking 8 or 12 pack, with the little indentions and everything! You think his brother Mark was hot in his Calvin Klein days? He had some competition from his 40 year old older brother last night! I am serious, he looked GOOD!!!!!
All good things must come to an end as did this. It was over around 11:30 or so. We went back to our car and drove home. Well, we stopped at Steak and Shake and got a milkshake, my throat needed it! I kept saying how awesome it was all the way home. I so hope they come back next year, because I am going again!!!! Surely you can't tell I had a good time :)
